AIMES First Pilot

On June 24 the first pilot of the EUROSTARS AIMES - Advanced Internet-based Multimedia Emergency Services project was held. Thanks to the participation and involvement of 112 Service of the Basque Country the Pilot became a reality.

The pilot was led by DEVERYWARE (DW), accompanied by the Portuguese project’s partner EDGENEERING (EDGE) and the Swedish partner OMNITOR (OMN).

The first AIMES Pilot Workshop demonstrated, in a scenario of a large forest fire, how emergency services and citizens benefit from next-generation multimedia and interoperability capabilities to improve emergency response efficiency and outcomes.

The Workshop participants saw live how the AIMES System enables a hard-of-hearing Swedish citizen to make a multimedia emergency call, using voice, chat and video capabilities, to report the forest fire and send relevant incident photos of the emergency to the local Spanish PSAP. The demonstration also highlighted the AIMES System’s roaming, automatic text translation and interoperability capabilities, as it empowers a true pan-European next-generation emergency service thanks to PEMEA.
